The tour typically features at least 10 houses and/or gardens. Most people spend 4-5 hours on the tour.
What is the tour route?
The tour is self-guided and features houses and gardens that are located throughout the neighborhood. Our volunteers will recommend a cluster of houses and gardens for you to start your tour, and you may visit these houses and gardens in any order. Guests are encouraged to park at one of the designated shuttle parking lots and ride the shuttle along the tour route. Please note, we do not make public the list of houses or gardens prior to the tour.
Is photography permitted?
Photography of home interiors will be allowed at select homes. Please refer to signage at the entrance of each home and if you are unsure, please feel free to ask a tour docent.
Anything else I should know?
In an effort to protect the floors of the homes, attendees will be required to wear booties inside all of the homes. The booties - disposable covers that go on easily over your shoes - will be provided complimentary. Please hold on to your booties and reuse them from home to home.
Where do the funds raised from the tour go?
The proceeds from the tour benefit the Civic Association of Hollin Hills which organizes the tour and is dedicated to the preservation and enhancement of the Hollin Hills community.
